Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust (SASH) provides acute and complex care to more than 535,000 people across East Surrey, northeast West Sussex and parts of Kent. More than 4,000 staff depend on its technology, making network reliability a direct operational concern.
When outages began affecting access to critical information and services, SASH needed more than a routine refresh. The Trust required an infrastructure platform that could remain available under pressure, support clinical mobility and make future change easier to manage.
SASH selected Panacea Networking as its integration partner. Working closely with Extreme Networks and Westcon, the team designed and delivered a resilient, high-availability network around Extreme Fabric, high-capacity core infrastructure and dependable links to external data centres.
The design reduces operational complexity while giving the Trust greater control over change. New devices and services can be introduced quickly without compromising the stability of the wider environment. That includes equipment such as mobile CT scanners, which can be connected securely when and where clinical teams need them.
The result is a network that has eliminated the downtime experienced in the previous environment and gives SASH a clearer foundation for growth. It supports fast, secure access to clinical tools while allowing the internal team to manage the infrastructure with greater confidence.
